Balanced Biz Blueprint

Lesson 6 Module 3

Today's stop is Design your dream lofts where we setup design systems to reach your WHOLE Goals.

In this video, you will learn the Balanced Biz Blueprint, why balance is so important and how to set yourself up for balance and success by getting back in the driver's seat of your life and business.

So let's get started, Why is balance so important anyway? Balance is defined as an even distribution of weight enabling someone to remain upright. Have you noticed how easily life can knock you down when one of the major areas of your life is seriously out of wack? You can feel overwhelmed, stressed, confused, frustrated or just plain batty until you bring that area into balance.

The Balanced Biz Blueprint has 5 components for more balance in our life and biz. You are the center, Simplify & Focus, See the Big Picture, Set up your systems and leverage your energy.

You are the Center is all about setting yourself up for success and finding your center to have more control over the outcome of your life and business. I know that everything teaches us not to focus on self or be self-centered. I disagree, you are the center of your universe and it is absolutely necessary to be self-aware, have a deep level of self-love and self-care. In this program, we're getting self-centered to better navigate our life and business. We are putting self-care first and getting clear about what we want.

Don’t get me wrong, I'm not saying be self-absorbed to the point nothing or no one else matters and it's only about you. Or you feel overwhelmed because you feel the weight of the world depends only on you. I'm just saying make sure you take care of numero uno so that you can share your love and gifts more with the world on a much greater level.

In order to do this and have greater success in your life and business, you must get in the Driver's Seat. There’s very little chance you will get what you want and be successful on your own terms if other people, things or events are always in control. We started getting clear at clarity cove but at design your dreams loft this is where we map it all out.

The same thing applies in business that's why we create a "You" Centered Business.

Again you should be the center when setting up your balanced business. You may ask, what about your customers? You’re setting up a “You” centered business with “Client” centered products and services.

Your business should be a reflection of your true desires, your highest passions, your best talents and it should make room for the other things that are most important in your life. You first want to get clear about what you want, who you want to serve and how you want to serve. Once you know yourself and your desires then you can serve others.

Next, it's all about simplifying and getting focused. Two of the major complaints I hear from women in regards to why they haven't started a business or their business isn't where they want it to be is that they are feeling overwhelmed with all of the things they have to do and there's not enough time in the day.

This is especially true with those of us that are multi-passionate, multi-talented or managing multiple roles. We find ourselves becoming major multi-taskers not knowing, that's what's taking up more of our time and energy.

We simplified and made Room for our Dreams at Clarity Cove during the Clutter Cutter Challenge. We also were introduced to setting up focused sprints to get things done and reduce the overwhelm.

The more things in your life and business that are taking up space and is not aligned with your goals, vision, and values, are blocking you from reaching the success that you deserve. So get light, keep it simple and get focused.

Next, we need to look at our big picture. In order to see things more objectively and see the "why" behind what you do what you do, take a step back and look at the whole picture.

We're going to look at the big picture and begin building out our balance board. This board will help us to keep our desires and action plan for balanced living and a balanced business in front of us.

Looking at our overall desires helps us see the big picture, which is the purpose of creating our goals. It's our why and our why is what keeps us motivated and pushing forward.

Sometimes it's difficult to see past the day to day, but you must look at the big picture to see the bigger plan for your life and also pinpoint your desires, goals and needed actions to achieve them. It's best to go big and then hone in and focus in on bite-sized tasks to help you get the results you desire. We will go into the Balance Board deeper in the next video.

- Next, we need to Create systems for your life and business that are going to give you more freedom, consistency and cash flow.

What systems do you need to put in place to make your life and business run more effectively with less stress and more productivity?

Take a look at your life and notice the patterns — of what you do every single day, I bet you’ll notice a lot of things that you end up doing over and over again. You usually already have a process of how you do these things.

Creating Schedules, Checklists and standard operating procedures can help you streamline your processes and also better delegate them in the future. SOP or standard operating procedures are step-by-step instructions created to help you carry out routine operations, this is usually used in business but can also be used in your everyday life.

I have segmented systems that I use into 6 main areas which this program is based upon:
1) Your Foundation Systems
In your foundational systems your getting clear on your Who, What, When, Where and How.
2) Your Design Systems
In this system, you’re setting up the plan to get you to your desired personal and business goals. The Balance Board we created yesterday will help you with that.
3) Your Self Care Systems
This is how you will take excellent care of yourself while building and growing your business.

4) Your Organizational Systems
These systems will help you keep the balance between your life and business.

5) Your Profit Systems
These systems while help you make money on autopilot so that you can have more time to do the things you love with the people you love.

6) Your Balance Systems

These systems bring it all together to find your balance in self, family, love and business by creating Daily HRS(Habits, Rituals and Systems).

We are not robots, systems are useful for making our life easier, consistent, and create more flow, but it does not have to be boring, stressful or perfect.

The last component of the blueprint is to leverage our energy. Our energy is the driving force for everything that we do. We use life force (physical) energy, creative energy, mental energy, emotional energy and even spiritual energy to manage our lives and businesses. Even though energy is a renewable resource we must use it wisely.

What does it mean to "leverage" your energy? It means to use your energy to its maximum advantage, multiplying the outcome of your energy (more money, getting more fit, more clients, etc) For example instead of just teaching a 1-on-1 client, you teach a group program using the same information, reaching more people at one time. Instead of getting one lead (potential customer) at a time you create a system for getting many leads using a software.

Here's how you can leverage your energy in your business (but also can apply to your life):

Set Boundaries
It's easier to set boundaries when you're clear about what you want, know your limits, you make self-care a priority and you have systems already in place. Doing things like setting up office hours and appointments will help with setting boundaries in your business. Also, it's okay to say no to things that don't align with your goals, values or doesn't feel good to you.

Do One Thing at a Time (Focus)
Give yourself specific time frames to focus on completing particular tasks and projects. Also use batching (grouping similar tasks together) e.g. batching blog post, blog images, videos, etc.

Get Educated
While you're learning, implement as you go to get more done in less time.

Create Systems
We talked about this yesterday; organize, document, create procedures, checklists, and templates so you don't have to start from scratch every time.

Delegate
The definition of Delegate is to entrust (a task or responsibility) to another person, typically one who is less senior than oneself.

Here are some tips for effective delegation.

-Communicate your goal clearly
-Break the goal down into simple specific tasks
-Prioritize the task list by importance.
-Make sure the person you choose to delegate the task to, has the skill set to complete it.

How to decide what tasks and activities you want to delegate? Delegate things you're not so good at, things that you hate doing, and things that anyone can do.

You can delegate to companies that specialize in areas you need help with. You can also use software as a delegation tool for automation. Hiring project based managers and virtual assistants can help take your business to the next level.

Remember it's hard to try to do everything yourself and not get burned out. Delegation is the key to scale your business and life.

Sometimes it feels like it's easier to do it yourself, but I promise getting the help you need will take you so much further. You should do tasks yourself at first in the beginning to get a clear understanding of how it works and how you need to set up your systems. After that, it's time to see how you can lighten your load. Set up the proper systems, communicate clearly and find the right people to be on your team so you can enjoy more of the things that matter to you most.
